Mrs. May Thazin is a Distinguished Professional in Tourism Human Resources Development, Vocational Training and Skills Development, bringing over two decades of expertise in the ASEAN Tourism Industry. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (IT) from the Technological University of Thanlyin, Myanmar (2005), and a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Association of Business Executives (ABE), UK (2011). Her impressive credentials include being an ASEAN Master Tourism Trainer on MRA-TP certified by the William Angliss Institute, Australia, and the ASEAN Secretariat. Additionally, she is a certified Master Trainer in Digital Skills for Green Tourism Enterprises by AJC & ADB, TOT of TVET Pedagogy by ITE, Singapore, and Youth Employment Training programs by Plan International USA.
As the Founder and Principal of Mandalay Hotel & Vocational Training Institute and Director of TRC Hotel & Vocational Training Institute, Mrs. Thazin has been instrumental in designing innovative training programs aligned with the ASEAN MRA-TP Qualification Framework and National Skills Qualifications Framework. Her programs focus on cultivating skilled professionals to meet the needs of both local and international tourism markets.
Mrs. Thazin’s expertise includes a deep understanding of ASEAN MRA-TP mechanisms, mastery in Digital Skills Training for Green Tourism Enterprises, leadership in developing ASEAN Tourism Toolboxes, and delivering world-class hospitality training with a focus on customer service.
Her notable contributions include leading Digital Skills Training for over 40 Myanmar Tourism Professionals in 2024, conducting ASEAN National Trainers Training for more than 150 Tourism Professionals since 2016, and providing TOT of TVET Pedagogy Training to around 200 TVET Trainers since 2014.
As a certified Master Trainer and Assessor, Mrs. Thazin remains a visionary leader in Tourism Human Resources and Skills Development, playing a vital role in shaping the future of the Myanmar TVET and Tourism Industry.
