Dr. Myat Noe Khin

TVET Excellence Award 2024 Winner

Dr. Myat Noe Khin is a distinguished educator in the field of Science and Technology Education, recognized for her significant contributions to technical and vocational education and training (TVET). She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Science and Technology Education from the Institute for Innovative Learning at Mahidol University, Thailand, in 2020, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her teaching practice.

Her academic journey began with a Bachelor and Master of Engineering in Electronics from Technological University Thanlyin, Yangon, in 2012. Dr. Myat Noe Khin possesses a strong foundation in electronic engineering, which she has translated into a comprehensive approach to vocational education.

Throughout her career, Dr. Myat Noe Khin has developed extensive professional qualifications that enhance her capability as an educator. These include specialized training in TVET pedagogy, on-job-training techniques, research methodology, research ethics, soft skills development, and project management.

Dr. Myat Noe Khin 's practical experience in TVET spans over a decade. Since 2012, she has served as an instructor for the Electrical and Electronic programs under the City & Guilds (UK) framework, where she has empowered numerous students with the skills necessary for success in technical fields. Between 2014 and 2020, she played a pivotal role as both an instructor and internal verifier for Higher National Diploma programs in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Her commitment to enhancing vocational training is further evidenced by her role as a Training Coordinator for vocational skills training from 2012 to 2024. In 2019, Dr. Myat Noe Khin edited the curriculum for barber skills training and motorcycle repair, demonstrating her dedication to diverse skill development. Additionally, she has served as an external verifier for the Aye Chan Thaw Ein Project from 2021 to 2022, ensuring quality standards in training delivery.

As a curriculum developer, Dr. Khin has made impactful contributions, including the Advanced Tailor Training curriculum for the GOMP project in 2022. And, she has provided technical consultation for curriculum development and digital transformation for various skills training programs under the SCORE project from 2023 to present. Her ongoing research into developing teaching modules for Electronic Engineering students reflects her commitment to advancing educational practices in Myanmar's technically diverse landscape.

Daw Khin Mar Aye

TVET Visionary Award 2024 Winner

Daw Khin Mar Aye is a distinguished leader and visionary in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Myanmar. With an impressive career spanning over three decades, her unwavering commitment to advancing vocational skills development has made a profound impact on the workforce and education sector in the country.

Daw Khin Mar Aye graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from the Rangoon Institute of Technology in 1985, laying a strong technical foundation for her future endeavors. She further enhanced her expertise by obtaining a Certificate of Safety Officer in Occupational Safety & Health from Singapore in 2002 and a Master of Development Studies from Yangon University of Economics in 2007.

Her professional journey began in 1987 as a Senior Training Officer at the Vocational Training Center (VTC) under the Ministry of Labour (MOL), where she played a crucial role in shaping the curriculum and training programs to meet industry standards. Her leadership capabilities led her to serve as Assistant Director (Principal) at the Skills Training Center from 2002 to 2015, where she championed the development of various skills training initiatives.

From 2015 to 2020, Daw Khin Mar Aye held the position of Deputy Director (Principal) at the Skills Development Division, where her strategic vision and policy development initiatives were instrumental in enhancing the quality of vocational training across the nation. In 2020, she was appointed as Director of the Skills Development Division, where she continued to drive important reforms in the TVET landscape until her retirement in September 2021.

Beyond her administrative roles, Daw Khin Mar Aye has actively participated in shaping the engineering profession and vocational education standards in Myanmar. She is a respected member of the Myanmar Engineering Society, a Registered Senior Engineer (RSE) with the Myanmar Engineering Council, and a contributor to various committees, including the Assessment and Certification Committee and the Occupational Sectorial Committee under the National Skills Standards Authority (NSSA).

Daw Khin Mar Aye’s visionary leadership and dedication to vocational training have played a vital role in equipping Myanmar's workforce with the necessary skills for success in a competitive global economy. Her recognition as the TVET Visionary Award winner for 2024 highlights her lasting impact on the sector and her commitment to empowering future generations through education and training.

Daw Shwe Yamin Oo

TVET Excellence Award 2025 Winner

Daw Shwe Yamin Oo is a visionary tech entrepreneur and a driving force for sustainable development and women’s economic empowerment in Myanmar. As the CEO and Co-founder of RecyGlo, she established Myanmar’s leading circular-economy waste management solution platform. Under her leadership, RecyGlo achieved global validation, becoming the first Myanmar startup selected for prestigious international programs, including Accelerating Asia (Singapore), the Katapult Ocean Accelerator (Norway), and the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC).
Her commitment to social impact extends far beyond environmental sustainability. In 2024, she co-founded the SheWorks Vocational Training Program to bridge the skills gap for disadvantaged women. Under her guidance, SheWorks has trained over 500 women with a 98% graduation rate. The program offers a diverse curriculum designed to foster economic independence, ranging from Mushroom Cultivation, Agriculture, and Jewelry Making to Hair & Beauty and Hospitality (F&B/Housekeeping).
Daw Shwe Yamin Oo has also successfully expanded her impact regionally. Through the Green Roots Eco-Tourism Project in Thailand, a partnership with the ASEAN Foundation and Maybank Foundation, she empowered women in Chiang Mai with skills in sustainable agriculture and green entrepreneurship. Her work enables graduates to launch micro-businesses and secure stable employment, creating economic resilience.
Her dual focus on innovation and education has earned her significant acclaim. She is the winner of the TVET Excellence Award 2025, recognizing her pivotal role in advancing technical and vocational education. Furthermore, she was named Founder of the Year at the ASEAN Startup Awards (Edition 9). Her earlier accolades include winning the Myanmar Startup Challenge 2017 and being a nominee for the Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia in 2019.
Academically, she combines technical expertise with business acumen. She holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon, and a Diploma in Business Management. To further refine her educational leadership, she completed Assessor Skill Training at the TVET Development Institute of the Myanmar Private TVET Association. She is also currently pursuing a Master of Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation.
Through RecyGlo and SheWorks, Daw Shwe Yamin Oo demonstrates a transformative approach to leadership, seamlessly integrating technology, environmental stewardship, and vocational training to build a more resilient and inclusive future for Myanmar.
